What “connect” means

MCP = a tool plug-in for your assistant (Cursor, Claude Code). Once installed, it can pick / get cards like a pro library.

CLI = the same tools in the terminal: node izzydesign.mjs pick "…"

No install? Still works — tell the assistant to fetch llms.txt + the library JSON and follow the loop.

Install MCP (Cursor / Claude Code)

Download the free agent pack from /design/agent/ (grab library.json, mcp-server.mjs, lib.mjs, learn.mjs, candidates.mjs, izzydesign.mjs into one folder).
Add this to Cursor mcp.json or Claude mcpServers (fix the path):

The server auto-loads library.json sitting next to it. No Google Drive required.

Open source + learning

The engine (pick/compose/MCP/CLI) is open source. The curated corpus stays gated. Anonymous local usage telemetry is on by default (~/.izzydesign/) — opt out with telemetry off or IZZYDESIGN_TELEMETRY=0. Telemetry can demote rank; it cannot promote cards.

Install tip: grab learn.mjs + candidates.mjs alongside lib.mjs from the agent pack.

Why this exists

Most assistants invent UI from vibes. IzzyDesign forces a reference pass first — so checkout stays quiet when the brand is loud, waitlists stay honest, consoles stay dense, and “AI purple glow” dies before it ships.
